Biff Benedict Pocoroba (born July 25, 1953 in Burbank, California) is a former Major League Baseball catcher, who also played a few games at third base. He was drafted by the Atlanta Braves in the 17th round of the 1971 amateur draft. As a rookie, Pocoroba got attention during spring training in 1975 by throwing out 11 straight would-be base stealers. () He made his major-league baseball debut on April 25, 1975, as a defensive replacement in the Braves' 5–3 loss to the San Diego Padres at San Diego. His best season was in when he achieved career-highs with 123 games, a batting average of .290, 8 home runs, 24 doubles, and 44 runs batted in. In , he made the National League All-Star team, finishing the season with a .242 batting average, six home runs and 34 RBI in 92 games. A torn rotator cuff injury slowed his career () and he played his last game on April 20, 1984 at the age of 30. ==See also==
